Service
When should you service your gear?
Professional divers have their gear overhauled every 20 dives, and recreational divers, depending on the number of dives they perform in a season, should have their gear inspected at least yearly, before the season starts, and following any holiday salt water dives.
Did you know...
- Even if you only used your dive gear infrequently, rubber deteriorates all by itself, without use.
- If you went down south this year, salt crystals can form if not cleaned out of the system effectively, and will harden and cause an obstruction in your regulators or LPI assembly, potentially causing a free flow.
- Salt can also eat away at the metal in your the air delivery system and hose assemblies, impairing the proper function or your life support system.
- Even here at home, if you don't clean your kit after every dive, fresh water particulate and sand may lodge in your gear.
- Your tanks must be visually inspected and certified yearly, and pressure tested and stamped every five years.
Avoid any problems with your gear and air tanks by having them inspected, cleaned and tuned at Happy Divers Den at regular intervals by our factory trained & certified technicians.
